George Washingtons Straight Rye 2 Year 750ML

George Washington’s Straight Rye 2 Year is the original recipe for Washington’s whiskey and was discovered by researchers examining the Distillery ledgers from 1798 and 1799. This beautiful amber-colored bottle is one of a limited number of bottles distilled at George Washington’s reconstructed Distillery. Mount Vernon's staff grinds the grains in Washington's water-powered gristmill, sets the mash in 120-gallon wood fermentation vats, and runs wood-fired copper pot stills to produce a rye whiskey as close to the original recipe as possible. After aging for two years in barrels, this straight rye whiskey was bottled and labeled by hand.
