The Macallan No. 6 Scotch In Lalique 750ML

Like all of the Master Series offerings, No.6 is all about the meticulous selection of oak casks. Crafted from a single cooperage using one style of cask, first-fill European oak butts (all of the Sherry-seasoned casks that The Macallan ages our Whiskies in are produced at four distinct Spanish cooperages), this cask is the largest of the cask styles / sizes. Generally, this cask-type features lighter color and more nuanced flavors but because it is 100% first-fill and exclusively European oak we see a darker richer whisky with the classic Macallan flavors of raisin, fig, dates and cooked apples on the nose, lending itself with chocolate, orange-zest, ginger and nutmeg on the palate. The finish is long and silky smooth. We would be remise to not mention the No.6 decanter is hand-blown Lalique crystal and each bottle is a one-of-a-kind collectable.
